A dining experience made quite memorable by the restaurant's history, it's heavy period ambience, ceilings adorned with as many as 70 thousand (reportedly !!) pipes of members past as well as present and a good range of unpretentious menu choices. Impressive wine list well capable of satisfying discerning preferences whilst not failing to offer more wallet friendly choices. BYOB subject to a very reasonable establishment policy (ie excludes items on its wine list) and an equally reasonable $20 corkage.

This is my go-to restaurant every time I visit NYC. One of the reasons is service. There are many fine dining restaurants that think they provide great service by interrupting your meal every few minutes to ask you how everything is. Keen’s values your privacy, and assumes that your party’s conversation and privacy is important. Here, waiters walk around and observe rather than ask you how everything is every 5 minutes. If you need something a discreet nod and/or eye contact will bring them straight away. Likewise, if they see something that needs attention, they will take care of it promptly with minimal fanfare. Of course, the food is also excellent, but the big premium you pay for the food here is the professional and discrete service.

This used to be one of my favorite steakhouses in New York. The only issue is that the last two times have been here the porterhouse has been so completely full of extremely tough fat that we couldn’t even cut it with our knives! Last night we had to send it back to get refired because it wasn’t the right temp ( we ordered medium but got rare) - and literally many of the pieces we couldn’t even cut through because they don’t trim the steaks properly I don’t remember this being issue the first couple times I went years ago but now it was shocking. They are still getting three stars because the hot sundae is still the same and awesome very old-school. The mutton was actually pretty good first time we had it even though it also had lots of chunky fat that was never trimmed end of the day every plate you finish at Keens is left with mountains of tough thick fat that goes back The crabcakes were very good

솔직히 기대 기대 안했는데 맛있고 양이 엄청 많았음 여자 하나 남자 하나 가서 스테이크 2개 시켰는데 배불러서 나중에 남김 내가 만약 다시 간다면 스테이크 하나에 오리 스테이크랑 에피타이저를 시키겠어 다른 삼대 스테이크 집에 비해서 유명세가 제일 덜 한 편이여서 그런지 한국인은 우리 밖에 없어서 더 좋았다 살짝 과소평가 된 듯한 느낌 공간도 알 수 없는 담배 파이프로 멋진 분위기를 내놨고 사진 보다도 어둡다 머촙과 티본스테이크를 먹었는데 개인적으로는 치본이 더 맛있었다 와이프가 예약을 하면서 내 생일이라고 했더니 서비스로 치즈 케이크를 받았다. 감동 그 자체였다.

머튼찹, 포터하우스를 주문했으나 정말 최악의 스테이크였습니다. 머튼찹은 따뜻하고 맛있었으나 포터하우스는 아무 맛도 나지 않는 퍽퍽살을 씹는 식감에 육즙은 없고 매말라있었습니다. 피터루거와는 다르게 담백한 맛이라는 것을 듣고 방문하여 원래 맛이 이런가? 라는 생각을 처음에 했으나 리뷰를 보다보니 저와 비슷한 경험(두번 조리한 느낌, 스테이크가 좀 식은 듯한 느낌, 레스팅을 오래했나? 라는 생각)을 한 리뷰들이 많아 얘들이 장난치나 싶어 리뷰를 남깁니다. 스테이크가 나왔을때 육즙이 없고 퍽퍽한 느낌이 드신다면 본격적인 식사를 하시기 전에 꼭 제대로 조리한게 맞는지 웨이터에게 얘기해보세요.
